I’ve been hearing a great deal about Kefir lately.
Kefir is a fermented milk drink made with Kefir grains. It is packed full of friendly bacteria & yeast, making Kefir a rich & diverse source of probiotics.
Probiotics can improve your general health from aiding digestion to boosting your immune system.
So I had to give Kefir a try.
I initially tried it ‘au natural’!
It doesn’t taste bad, but it does have a sourness to it.
I wanted to give it a sweetness without adding too much sugar and certainly no refined sugars.
I’m sure Kefir loses its sparkle if mixed with refined sugar!
Add a large handful of blueberries.
I’m quite partial to coconut milk! So I must get my hands on some Kefir Coconut Milk.
It could be a nice addition to this smoothie or perhaps my Summer Red Berry Smoothie. A study has also shown that Kefir made from cows milk has helped some people with lactose intolerance. (It does say to talk to your GP before trying it.)
This I would like to know more about.
